Organizations, projects and members
Organizations
Your organization is your company's workspace and billing account. You create it when you sign up, and you become its Owner.
From the organization sidebar you can manage:
| Area | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Projects | Create and open projects. |
| General | Organization details, plus Data & privacy: call recording, data retention and customer memory consent. |
| People | Invite members and set their organization role. |
| Roles, Role assignments and Groups | Create custom roles, assign them, and manage access for groups of users. |
| Domains | Map your work email domains, so colleagues can ask to join. |
| Security | Let members sign in with your own identity provider. |
| Join requests and Transfer requests | Approve people who asked to join, and projects being moved into your organization. |
| Billing and Plan | Credits, usage and your plan. |
| Audit log | See who changed what in your organization. |
| API keys | Keys for your projects' public APIs. |
Join an existing organization
If your company already has a workspace on your email domain, you can ask to join it when you sign up. An admin of that organization approves the request. If someone invited you, sign up with the email address the invitation was sent to and you join automatically once your email is verified.
Projects
A project groups everything for one product, team or client:
- Agents and workflows
- Phone numbers and channels
- Tools, MCP servers, knowledge bases and skills
- Members and their roles
To create one, choose New project in the header or on the Projects page, then give it a name and an optional description. The name appears in the project switcher and on invoices.
Project Settings include API keys, widget settings, data retention, outbound calling hours, the audit log, and transferring the project to another organization you belong to. Transfers need approval from the target organization's admin.
Members and roles
Open Project → IAM to see who has access to a project. Invite someone from the Members tab and choose their role. Invitations expire after 7 days; resending one refreshes the link.
Every project has four built-in roles:
| Role | What it can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including billing, transfer and deleting the project. |
| Admin | Manage members and roles, agents, channels, tools, API keys and project settings. |
| Contributor | Build and test agents, workflows, skills and knowledge. View calls and analytics. |
| Viewer | Read-only access to agents, calls, transcripts and analytics. |
Creating, editing and testing agents needs Contributor access or higher.
Custom roles
If the built-in roles don't fit, an organization admin can create custom roles under Organization → Roles. A custom role grants specific actions (view, create, update, delete, execute, invite, export, deploy) on specific resources (organization, project, agent, workflow, member, analytics, billing, knowledge base).
Roles control what people can do in the console. They don't apply to project API keys. A key works only for its own project, and you can limit it to certain agents, website origins and a request rate. Revoke any key you no longer need: anything using it stops working at once.
